What is the dress code for competitors?
Should Horses be braided?
Braids are permitted but not necessary to compete.
Riders competing in jumper divisions may choose to, but are not required to wear formal attire. Beige, white or tan breeches are suggested along with a riding shirt, jacket or polo shirt.
Riders competing in hunter divisions are asked to wear formal attire. A show coat is suggested but not mandatory. Tall boots, paddock boots with jodhpur straps or paddock boots with matching half chaps are all considered acceptable footwear.
Do horses need any particular vaccinations?
Yes, all horses schooling or competing must provide proof of that year’s rhino vaccine and coggins test before arrival on site.
What tack is permitted?
Equestrian Canada tack rules and regulations apply. Non-compliant tack may be used for hors-concours (non-competing) entries if agreed upon by both management and show judge.
Do I need any memberships?
Riders and trainers are not required to have any memberships, although a Membership with Cheval Quebec or Ontario Equestrian is suggested for personal insurance purposes.
